It is designed for a 5 people family for vacations in a rural village in Fujian province. The client only has a simple wish which is to have a garden. According to the current practice in the village, concrete with steel and bricks are the most common material, and as a result, the brick-concrete structure is, of course, the basic structural system for the house. Void frames become the patio and balcony and frames with 2 pieces of walls become living room and dining rooms, frames with 3 or 4 walls become more private rooms.
